Mac OS X additional information

To launch the server double-click on the Java executable file Remote PC Server.jar (NOT *.exe).

Important: BlueCove on Mac doesn't work with Java 64-bit so it is desirable to run the server in 32-bit mode (by adding -d32 to the command line).

Mac OS X 10.8 – Mountain Lion

Apple deprecated some Bluetooth libraries used by Bluecove. One of users (thanks Olivier!) sent me a message how fix this problem: "I have however been able to make the server app work by downloading the file listed in this comment:"

"Then I simply kept the IOBluetooth file (the deprecated library used by Bluecove) and put it in the same folder as the .jar then starting the server with the following shell script:"

DIR=$( cd "$( dirname "$0" )" && pwd )
java -jar -d32 ~/Path/To/Jar.jar

To write special characters (!@#$%^&, etc.) it's desirable to set Unicode Hex Input.

How to proceed:

  1. Go to System Preferences -> Language & Text -> Input Sources.
  2. Enable Unicode Hex Input.
  3. Switch to Unicode Hex Input in the menu bar.

We highly recommend using iTunes.
